OUR BEGINNING
"No, I don't want a show dog. Just a nice dog for our family." I remember so well those words and could not foresee how enrich our lives would become after "we" were adopted by this "gray ghost." Our first weimaraner was purchased as a "pet". Through a stroke of good fortune our obedience instructor suggested taking him to a 'match show' which is an informal 'dog show'. There we met other weimaraners owners, talked much about dogs, and had a judge look over our puppy. The result, our first Blue Ribbon. Our first weimaraner went on to get his Championship, his CD (Companion Dog title from the AKC), his N.S.D. field ratings, and a "V" versatility from the Weimaraner Club of America, namely, CH. V. Reiteralms Rio's Bleu Max, C.D., N.S.D., V. our "pet" puppy, who shared our home until he was 14 years old.
We shall forever be indebted to Diane Swanson of Woodinville, Washington for trusting us with two weimaraners who "did it all" and became the foundation for Wyngate Weimaraners. Leafing through the Weimaraner Club of America monthly magazine, we fell in love with a photo of Ch. Green Acres Cardi Carrousel, TDX owned by Diane Swanson of Woodinville, WA. Not only did "Carrie Ann" win Best in Futurity Western Section in l981, went on to capture BOS at the 82' WCA National Specialty, had multiple B.O.B.'s, Group II but also added a Tracking Dog Title to her accomplishments before 2 years of age. Knowing that she was taking leave for a June litter, we contact Diane Swanson, and got our 1st Green Acres Bitch, to whom we shall forever be indebted. That puppy went on to become our foundation bitch who proudly carries the name of CH. GREEN ACRES ARCADE ANNIE, JH, SD, V.

OUR FOUNDATION BITCH - CH. GREEN ACRES ARCADE ANNIE, JH, SD, V
Her name was "K.D." Driving to the Philadelphia airport, waiting anxiously in the air cargo area, a small kennel appeared and upon opening the door, a beautiful little gray girl came bouncing out. She had just traveled from Washington State to Pennsylvania and was full of her glory. K.D. never did anything wrong from the time she came to us. Not even expecting it, at 9 months of age, that same spirit and movement we saw from day one, won her a 5 point Specialty Win at the Weimaraner Club of America Washington DC Specialty at Old Dominion and taking Best of Winners. K.D. was Second Intermediate Bitch at the 1984 Eastern Futurity and was Second at the National Maturity in Chicago, second only to the number one weimaraner in the country at that time, which is well worth mentioning since she was a shown by her novice owner. K.D. also finished her championship at 14 months and continue to take BOB wins to her accomplishments all before 2 years of age. She then went on to capture both field ratings and, a Junior Hunter title from the American Kennel Club. To, our first foundation bitch and lady, we embrace you and you will forever be in our hearts.
"A dog of a life time". I heard it over and over again about K.D. Spectators, competitors and anyone looking at her, fell in love with K.D. Indeed her accomplishment were the very essence of what dreams are made of. What a beginning for a person new to the scene. The path was well set. How can you possibly do more?
THEN, CAME "SASSIE"
A second breeding of "Ch. Green Acres Cardi Carrousel, TDX" to a southern gentlemen was in the making. How could anyone resist a second female puppy, much less a half sister. After all, K.D. was still a puppy herself and already a finished Champion. So, back to the Philadelphia airport and incredible as it sounds, a repeat with even greater accomplishments followed, we give to you…
CH. GREEN ACRES CALLING CARD, J.H., N.S.D., S.D., N.R.D, V.
"Sassie" brought into our lives people, events, memories and a tidal wave of emotions. Her first two puppy matches were Best In Shows. Always owner-handled. In an unbelieveable 3 week period, Sassie took five consecutive wins, three (3) consecutive Majors and earned her Championship at 10 months of age - with a 5 point Specialty win at Bryn Mawr in 1985. She went on to become the l985 South Futurity Intermediate Bitch, and celebrated her 1st birthday with back to back Best of Breed under all breed best in shows judges defeating top 10 competitors. The following year we flew to California, and there Sassie went BOS in Channel City in 1986 in conjunction with the Western Futurity (entry of 79 weimaraners with 23 Specials). Her NSD was obtained the first time out. She earned her Junior Hunting Title with almost two perfect scores. Her first litter produced a champion, major pointed get, and a bitch, Wyngate's Solo of Green Acres, TD, who earned her Tracking Dog Title the very day she was six months old. Sassie has exemplified the Green Acres motto of a "heritage of quality" and indeed left her "calling card" where ever she went. She is the foundation bitch for Wyngate Weimaraners. Again we thank, Diane Swanson of Woodinville, WA. for the privilege of having such a wonderful dog and friend.
